In this 10h tour from Porto we invite you to visit the magnificent Douro Valley, while touring 3 of the best wineries of the region with a small group. Taste and learn about the different styles of Port and DOC Douro wines, by sampling each one in company of an expert wine tour guide that will be explained you all step by step. Let yourself be amazed with the stunning river view of the restaurant by lunch time, while you keep trying local wine with traditional flavours from the region. Before coming back to Porto there will be a photo stop in Pinhão by the 19th century railway station, decorated with 24 panels of tiles from 1937, representing images of Douro Valley and it’s traditions. After this wonderful experience of wine, landscape and culture you will be conduced back to your hotel in Porto, where you can expect to arrive by 6h30 pm.

What Will You Do

You will be picked up from your hotel or accomodation in the city of Porto between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM. Your guide will introduce themselves, as well as all the other guests, and you will be explained about the daily program. The journey starts towards Douro as you will learn more of the region on the way.
This tour is similar to our bestselling tour, with the difference of containing a visit to a third Winery with wine tastings instead of the regular 1 hour river cruise – the perfect option for the true wine lover!
So, our tour includes visits to three small local wineries, one in the morning and two in the afternoon, before coming back to Porto. At two of the wineries you will be in company of an expert local guide who will guide you through the facilities (lagares and cellars) and tell you about the wine making process as you taste their selected wines.
At the third, you will experience a selected wine tasting while they explain more about the wines.
By lunch time we stop in the village of Pinhão, an historical village in the heart of Douro, at a traditional local restaurant, including a meal of fish, meat or vegetarian (we can also accommodate your meal if you have a gluten free diet – just let us know in advance). Time to immerse yourself in the real Portugal through its unique cuisine.
As a bonus, we also make small stops for taking beautiful pictures and admire the surroundings and nature at local viewpoints during the day.
Be back to Porto close to 6:00 PM, full of gret memories and certain that you have enjoyed one of the absolute best locations in Portugal!
