After a drive to the German border we reach the Eifel mountain region with its the beautiful landscape and make a first stop at historic Monschau, the “Pearl of the Eifel”. The narrow, cobblestoned streets and traditional half-timbered houses make this charming place one of the main tourist attractions of the region.
Our guide takes you on a (very) easy walk along the picturesque river bank from where most of the main sights can be enjoyed. Close-by are also remains of the German defenses at the Western front of 1945. We drive to Cologne. After lunch we start our walk at the Neumarkt in the heart of the old city.
We only mention the highlights of our guided walk: the cathedral, the City Hall, the Roman walls, the Roman and Germanic museum, the beautiful banks of the Rhine and we discover the mystery of the world famous Eau de cologne 4711 in the Glockengasse.
