The municipality of Seia is located in the district of Guarda, centrally placed in mainland Portugal. The territory occupies an area of ​​965.58 km² and has a population of 13,734 inhabitants (2011).

The climate in Seia is continental with mediterranean influences, marked by the presence of the Serra da Estrela massif. The average annual temperature is 10.5 ° C and the average annual rainfall is 1,200 mm.
