More to know about Hraunfossar Waterfalls
Hraunfossar (meaning "Lava Falls" in Icelandic) is a series of waterfalls located in the western part of Iceland, about an hour's drive from Reykjavik. The waterfalls flow out of the Hallmundarhraun, a lava field created by an eruption of a volcanic mountain called Langjökull. The water flows over the edge of the lava field and into a deep ravine, creating a series of cascades that are particularly beautiful in the summer when the sunlight filters through the trees and reflects off the water.
