Manarola Nativity Walking Tour with Wine Tasting

One of the most beautiful and evocative spectacles in Cinque Terre is the Manarola Nativity, the largest and brightest in the world, also included in the Guinnesses of Records.

The Manarola Nativity is produced with many hand-made peasant and shepherd silhouettes made of recyclable materials. The figures are lit by 17,000 colored light bulbs and 7 km of electric cable running on the typical dry walls terraces of Manarola cultivated with vineyards.

The striking artwork covering the background hill of the Manarola village has been designed and built every year since 2007. It was conceived by the imagination and commitment of Mario Andreoli, a retired railroad man from Manarola who dreamed of creating a significant artwork in his Cinque Terre hamlet. Today, everyone in the village works on building the Crib, contributing to its beauty.

Our guided tour takes you to the top of the hill where the hut with the nativity’s comet star is placed at sunset, right when the nativity lights are lit.

Walking in the Cinque Terre vineyards glowing in the thousands of lights of the nativity scene, listen to your guide telling this extraordinary event’s story, which involves the entire population of Manarola. At the end of the walking tour, a toast with a glass of Cinque Terre wine.
