Only elves with special powers can work in the Gingerbread House as they can resist the magical powers of gingerbread.

The Elves’ Hideaway was kept secret from mankind for a long time. The animals, creatures of the earth, water and forest, all learned to live together in peace here. This time was called the “one thousand years of peace”.
