Thumrait Town

First stop will be in Thumrait Town to have a few minutes refreshment and may be enjoying the Taste of Arabian cup of Coffee (Qahwah) and Dates (Tamer). The town of Thumrait has been a vital point in the ancient Frankincense trading routes. It is one of the main Cities of Dhofar Governorate due to its strategic location on the main road between Dhofar and the rest of the Sultanate.

Wadi Dawkah National Reserve of frankincense trees (Boswellia sacra)

This valuable National Reserve of frankincense trees ((boswellia sacra) from which the resin was produced, collected and traded, is situated in Wadi Dawkah 40 KM North of Salalah city. This place Has been a significant stop along the antiquated Frankincense Trail line, an incense exchange course that has been utilized by dealers for centuries. Around 5,000 frankincense trees can be found right now, including some antiquated example. In spite of the fact that frankincense trees can arrive at a stature of 26 feet, most trees in Wadi Dawkah are close to 10 feet high. Ubar archaeological site (UNESCO site)

Visit Ubar archaeological site (UNESCO site) and stop at this World Heritage Site of the Gum Road in Dhofar province, located at the southern end of the Empty Quarter Desert in the so-called "shasr" or "Ssar" part. Learn about this ancient site discovery history. Evidence has indicated that the site has been inhabited since the Stone Age, and there are traces indicating the most recent settlement of this land dating back to the Iron Age, i.e. around 325 BC. Excavations and excavations at the site revealed the existence of an ancient archaeological city believed to be the city of "Erm al-Imad", which was mentioned in the Holy Quran, a land that the Hood people "did not create in the country", as mentioned in the Qur'anic text, and excavations are continuing to reveal further traces. ‎

Desert Dunes (Al Khadaf area)

Arrive at 05 30 pm at the marvellous sand dunes close to Al-khadaf and start your thrilling adventure around. Experience the fun, thrilling dune pashing experience and calming walk on the golden sand hills around and close your day holding your camera in hand at tip of the dunes viewing the spectacular golden hour of the sunset at the empty quarter desert. An experience that will definitely last in your memory. 

Overnight Desert Camping

‎ After sunset, Proceed to the nearby Layali Desert camp, where you will be welcomed with a nice smile and refreshing worm cup of tea will be locating your overnight tent. Gather to be briefed about the night program and oriented about your stay. Rest for a while and get ready for a delicious Arabian buffet dinner. Make most of your stay and enjoy the night life of the desert while watching for the shooting stars. Sleep tight and getup early to catch the extraordinary desert sunrise. After that, get ready for a nice Arabian breakfast before we proceed to our last stop at the valley of frankincense tree (Wadi Dawkah). End of tour and return to start point.

  • 4x4 vehicles used for the off-road safaris are air-conditioned with a maximum capacity of 6 passengers plus driver. All drivers are qualified off-road professionals. All vehicles are equipped with seat-belts and passengers are required to wear them at all times.
