(Cruise Ships) Lake Mývatn and Goðafoss – First we drive along the coast of Eyjafjordur, one of the longest fjords in Iceland. Our journey starts with a visit to Goðafoss waterfall, an awe-inspiring attraction known as one of Iceland’s most spectacular waterfalls. Continuing to Lake Mývatn, this mesmerizing lake was formed by a massive basaltic lava eruption 2300 years ago. Volcanic landforms, such as lava pillars and rootless vents, dominate the surrounding landscape, adding to the captivating scenery.
We take a look at Grjótagjá cave and a stop at the hot spring area at Hverarönd in Námaskarð and in the Nature baths where you get the chance to relax in the steam baths and bathe in the geothermal water you can also take a massage in the baths.
On the way back we come to the unique lava formations of Dimmuborgir which are among the most popular tourist attractions in the Lake Myvatn area, we stop also in Skútustaðagígar (pseudo craters area). Our final destination is Eyjafjordur, offering stunning views across the fjord to Akureyri, perfect for capturing memorable photographs. You can not go wrong with this moderately priced and well organized small group tour (max. 16 person)
