There is much to see in Iceland, but only so much time. That’s where our combo tours help you make the most of your time in Reykjavik… and what a combination – A fascinating Lava tube cave followed by 1hr – adrenaline-filled ATV action in the mountains near Reykjavik.
More than 5,200 years ago was this magnificent lava cave was created, the cave formed as a lava tube during the Leitahraun eruption and is the 4th largest lava tunnel ever to be found in Iceland. Measuring 1360 meters at length and 10-30 meters wide – depending on where you standing at. Going inside the cave offers an incredible experience, as you see the natural colors around the cave formed during the volcanic creation of the tunnel.
Our experienced guide will come to pick you up from your local accommodation in Reykjavik in the morning, Pick up will start at 8:45 The drive to the cave is about 30 min outside Reykjavik. When arriving at the lava tube cave will our team dress you up with a helmet and a torchlight before exploring the underworld.
Following your caving tour, we will return you to your original pickup location, where you can enjoy a short lunch break. We highly recommend grabbing lunch or taking a city walk during this time.
The duration of the Lava tube caving will take 3hrs in total.
Next up, is pick up by Safari Quads for the adrenaline-pumping 1hr Reykjavik Peak. Our highly trained 4×4 guides will come and pick you up from your local accommodation at 13:00 and bring you to Safari Quads basecamp – Where we will suit you up with warm gear and get you ready to jump on the ATV and speed up the mountain yard near Reykjavik. On our 1hr Reykjavik Peak will we drive with you past Hafravatn water and up Hafrafell mountain where waits you incredible views above Reykjavik and the whole peninsula around. Sometimes on a clear day,
you can even see Snæfellsnes Glacier across the Ocean.

ATV & Caving is our most popular multi activity day tour from Reykjavik and it's great value for money. The lava tunnel exploration is a relatively mild caving experience, suitable for everyone in decent physical shape.
You will begin the day with a pick up my one of our guides, and off you go heading toward Leiðarendi Cave then we will dive into the ground to explore an ancient lava tube. Something more than the typical Iceland experience The cave is about 900 meter long, it formed when the surface of the lava flow dried up, and the hot lava kept flowing beneath just like an underground river. The darkness is so dense that if it weren't for your headlights you would have no use for your eyes whatsoever. Walking in this tunnel is a unique experience, when you point your lights at the walls and insides of the lava tube, you will be amazed by the beautiful rock formations and colors - red, blue, violet, even metal! In cold winter days the ice formations are so stunning, like a glistening diamond hue. Such an exotic lava caving is an activity not offered in many countries, yet another gift that Iceland has to offer.
After this incredible adventure, Next up is speeding across the beautiful country side, on our ATVS ending up on a mountain top with panoramic view of Reykjavík City and the surrounding mountains.
