The capital of Puglia, Bari, is not part of the circuit of the cities most sought after by tourists, however, all its beauty, history and culture can please even the most demanding traveler.
The city is located on the Adriatic Sea, in the south-eastern part of Italy and is the capital of the homonymous region. Its origins date back to before our era: it was an important center for the trade with Greece and the East.
The old town is full of interesting places to visit. The Basilica of San Nicola, one of the most beautiful Romanesque churches in Puglia, is worth a visit. Inside there are the relics of Saint Nicholas, protector of sailors and children. Another place not to be missed is the Swabian Castle, built by Frederick II in the 13th century.
