More to know about Plitvička Jezera

Plitvička Jezera is a national park in Lika-Senj County, central Croatia. The site features sixteen interconnected limestone lakes arranged in cascading tiers, surrounded by dense forests of beech, spruce, and fir trees. Travertine waterfalls link the lakes, creating dramatic vertical drops. Visitors hike marked trails, take wooden boardwalks over the water, and explore caves within the park.
Plitvička Jezera (Plitvice Lakes National Park) is located in the Lika region of central Croatia, approximately 130 km south of Zagreb and 250 km northeast of Split. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979, the park covers 295 square kilometres and encompasses sixteen terraced karst lakes connected by waterfalls and traversed by wooden boardwalks. It is the oldest and largest national park in Croatia, managed by Nacionalni park Plitvička jezera, and represents one of the most visited natural destinations in southeastern Europe.
