Playas del Coco is one of the oldest beach communities in Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica. This region is also one of the fastest-growing tourism areas in Costa Rica. The town is situated on the north coast of the province, about 25 kilometers from Liberia International Airport.
The name “Playas del Coco” literally means “Coco’s Beach” in English. The town got its name from the abundance of coconut trees that used to grow in the area.
Playas del Coco is known for its lively nightlife and relaxed atmosphere. The town is also a popular destination for scuba diving, fishing, and boating.
