Parque do Buçaco, which includes the Serra do Buçaco, is one of the oldest Portuguese national parks, having been created in 1907.
Serra do Buçaco is also known for its gardens, which were designed in the 18th and 19th centuries by French, Italian and German architects and landscapers. These gardens are made up of different types of plants and trees, which create an exotic and enchanting atmosphere.
