Taste of the Amazon Jungle: 3-Day Floating Lodge Adventure from Manaus
Navigate black-water rivers, fish for piranha, and sleep deep in the rainforest at a floating lodge on the Amazon.
This Amazon jungle tour from Manaus is a carefully structured three-day expedition that brings travelers face to face with one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on the planet. Led by experienced native guides, the journey moves from the iconic Meeting of the Waters to a remote floating lodge tucked inside the flooded forest. Every activity is designed to be accessible, rewarding, and rooted in authentic Amazonian culture.
Guests travel by speedboat along the Rio Negro, passing through the Catalao floating village and stopping to observe the giant Arapaima Gigas, the largest scaled freshwater fish in the world. The route then crosses the Meeting of the Waters before reaching the Macarico Lake area and the Amazon Tapiri Floating Lodge, the base for all jungle activities. The lodge offers private rooms with air conditioning, private bathrooms, and mosquito nets, balancing comfort with true wilderness immersion.
Over two full days, activities include piranha fishing, sunrise canoe excursions, guided jungle treks focused on medicinal plants and wildlife, canoeing through flooded forest channels, caiman spotting after dark, and a night safari by boat. A visit to a riverside local family on the final morning rounds out the cultural dimension of the trip. Meals are served at the lodge and feature regional Amazonian cuisine prepared fresh each day.
The difficulty level is rated Easy, making this expedition suitable for travelers without prior jungle experience. Native guides lead each activity, providing ecological context throughout while prioritizing the safety and engagement of every participant.
