8-Hour Amazonas Jungle Trek and Anavilhanas Archipelago
Venture deep into the world's largest rainforest and sail across one of the Amazon's most remarkable river archipelagos in a single full-day expedition.
The Amazon jungle trek brings you face to face with the extraordinary biodiversity of the world's largest tropical rainforest, guided by an experienced local expert who knows exactly where wildlife hides and thrives.
This full-day journey combines two of the Amazonas region's most iconic natural experiences: a guided trek through dense rainforest terrain and a river excursion through the Anavilhanas Archipelago, a UNESCO-recognized ecological station containing thousands of river islands.
Traveling with a knowledgeable guide makes a measurable difference in the Amazon. The forest rewards patience and local insight, and this tour is structured to give participants both, without rushing through the landscape.
Lunch is included, giving you time to rest and recharge mid-tour before continuing your exploration along the river. The moderate difficulty level makes this tour accessible to most adults with a reasonable level of fitness.

Itinerary
The tour begins with a scenic boat ride along the Amazon River, heading away from Manaus and into the broader river system. This transfer sets the tone for the day and offers the first opportunities to observe riverside wildlife and vegetation.
A guided trek takes you into the rainforest interior, where your guide identifies plants, insects, animal tracks, and wildlife along the trail. The moderate difficulty level involves uneven terrain and some light undergrowth, suitable for participants in good general health.
The guide leads the group to areas known for wildlife activity, increasing your chances of encountering birds, caimans, monkeys, or other Amazonian species. Observation is unhurried, allowing time for photographs and closer study of the forest ecosystem.
A included lunch is served during the midpoint of the tour, giving participants a chance to rest and discuss the morning's discoveries. Lunch takes place in a setting connected to the natural environment of the region.
After lunch, the group boards the boat and sails into the Anavilhanas Archipelago, a network of hundreds of forested river islands within the Rio Negro. The boat winds through narrow channels lined with flooded forest, a defining landscape of the Amazon basin.
The day concludes with a return journey along the Amazon River back to the departure point in Manaus. Total tour duration is approximately 8 hours from start to finish.
