KAMEHAMEHA — Exclusive 3-Hour Private Sailing Experience on Guanabara Bay
Your group, your sailboat, your journey — guided by the wind across one of the world's most iconic bays.
A private sailing tour on Guanabara Bay offers an intimate and flexible way to experience Rio de Janeiro's most celebrated landmarks from the water. Reserved exclusively for your group, this three-hour voyage delivers a perspective of the city that few visitors ever encounter.
The tour departs from the marina at Pier A2, where the crew prepares the sailboat and welcomes your group aboard. Once the moorings are cast off and the sails are hoisted, the route is shaped by wind and sea conditions rather than a fixed schedule, ensuring that every outing is genuinely distinct.
From the deck, passengers observe iconic landmarks including Sugarloaf Mountain, Christ the Redeemer, the beaches of Flamengo, Botafogo, and Urca, as well as the neighborhoods of Icaraí and São Francisco across the bay. When conditions allow, the vessel may venture toward ocean beaches in Rio or Niterói.
Two departure windows are available daily. Morning sailings typically offer calmer waters and warm sunlight that accentuates the surrounding landscape. Afternoon departures provide a natural setting for watching the bay transition into evening, with the sunset framing the hills and shoreline in shifting light.

Suitable for groups of one to eleven people, making it an ideal option for couples, families, and small gatherings.
How the Tour Unfolds
Guests make their way to the marina and locate Pier A2, the designated departure point. The crew welcomes everyone aboard and provides a brief safety orientation before setting off.
Once everyone is settled, the moorings are released and the sails go up. The vessel begins moving across the bay, with the crew adjusting course in response to the prevailing wind direction.
The route takes the vessel past Sugarloaf Mountain, the beaches of Urca, Botafogo, and Flamengo, and across to the Niterói shoreline with views of Icaraí and São Francisco. The Historic Center and Porto Maravilha are visible from the water on most outings.
When conditions are favorable, the captain may navigate toward the entrance of the bay near the colonial fortresses or continue to the open ocean beaches of Rio or Niterói for an extended sailing experience.
The crew gradually brings the vessel back to Pier A2, completing the three-hour journey. Guests disembark at the same marina where the tour began.
