The tour begins at Þingvellir, where the rift valley created by the separation of two continental plates creates a landscape unlike anywhere else on earth. The site of the Alþingi parliament and the clear waters of the Silfra fissure make this a location with both geological and historical depth.

The route continues east through the rift valley to the hot spring fields of Haukadalur. Strokkur erupts reliably every four to five minutes, sending a column of boiling water skyward, while the surrounding pools of geothermal water steam quietly across the valley floor.

A short drive from Geysir, Gullfoss channels the full volume of the Hvítá glacial river over two steps and into a deep gorge. On clear days, rainbows form in the spray above the falls, and on overcast days the sheer force of the water dominates the scene.

Beyond Gullfoss, the Super Truck takes over as the road gives way to highland track and then to open volcanic terrain. The vegetation thins and disappears as the truck climbs toward the glacier, and the ice plateau opens up ahead, a vast frozen expanse that sits at the centre of Iceland's western highlands.

Time on the glacier allows for walking on the ice surface under the guidance of the driver and with appropriate safety measures in place. The return journey retraces the highland route back toward Reykjavík, with the volcanic ridges and post-glacial landscape offering a different perspective on the way down.
