Itinerary
The day begins at Thingvellir National Park with a fully guided snorkeling session inside the Silfra Fissure. Drysuits and all snorkeling equipment are provided, and a certified guide leads the group through the underwater rift between continents.
After the snorkel, explore the rift valley on foot. Thingvellir served as the site of the world's first parliament, the Althing, and its landscape visibly displays the separation of two tectonic plates.
The route continues to the Haukadalur valley, home to the Geysir hot spring area. Strokkur erupts reliably every five to ten minutes, and the surrounding field of bubbling mud pools and steaming vents adds to the spectacle.
A short drive leads to Gullfoss, where the Hvita river plunges into a two-tiered drop before disappearing into a narrow canyon. Viewing paths bring visitors close to the spray on clear days.
The day's final stop is Fridheimar, a family-run farm that grows tomatoes year-round using geothermal energy. Guests dine inside the greenhouse and are served fresh tomato soup, bread, and seasonal preparations sourced directly from the farm.
