Tour Itinerary
The experience begins at the marina in the town of Vila Franca do Campo on the southern coast of São Miguel. After introductions, guides distribute all kayaking and snorkeling equipment and conduct a thorough safety briefing before departure.
The group sets out from the marina under guide supervision, paddling along the scenic coastline toward the Vila Franca do Campo Islet. En route, participants pass high volcanic cliffs, small bays, and points of geological interest.
Guides lead the group around the perimeter of the islet, pointing out hidden sea caves, arch formations, and remote sandy coves. Local legends and ecological information about this Protected Natural Area are shared during this segment.
Upon reaching the interior of the islet, participants have time to explore the crater lagoon on foot (seasonal), rest on the low-tide beach, and snorkel in the surrounding Atlantic waters to observe marine life. The group paddles the return route of approximately 5 kilometers in total back to Vila Franca do Campo Marina, where the activity concludes. The overall duration may be adjusted based on weather conditions and group pace.
