Welcome Briefing at Sete Cidades Village
The tour begins beside the football field in the village of Sete Cidades. Over approximately 15 minutes, the guide covers safety procedures, demonstrates how to operate the e-bike, and distributes helmets, gloves, and reflective vests.

Lagoa Azul Bridge and the Peninsula
Riders cross the bridge separating the Blue and Green Lakes, taking in the contrast of the two bodies of water before continuing to the Baía do Silêncio picnic area on the Lagoa Azul peninsula via earthen trails.

Caldera Climb and Intermediate Viewpoints
Returning to the main road, the route ascends the caldera rim with stops at the Lagoa de Santiago and Cerrado das Freiras viewpoints, offering progressively wider views over the crater and surrounding countryside.

Vista do Rei and Cumeeira Pequena Trail
At the top, the Vista do Rei viewpoint delivers the most complete panorama of the twin lakes. From here, the group turns onto the Cumeeira Pequena gravel trail for a more adventurous off-road segment.

Duration
The tour lasts approximately 3 hours, including the safety briefing at the start.
Meeting Point
To the left of the Sete Cidades football field. If the transfer option is selected, pick-up takes place between 8:30 and 8:50 from your accommodation in Ponta Delgada or nearby.
What to Bring
Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing. Waterproof and windproof layers are recommended as trails can be wet and muddy. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a water bottle, and a small backpack for personal items.

If the activity is cancelled due to bad weather, participants can reschedule, swap to another activity or itinerary, or receive a full refund.
Accessibility
A minimum height of 150 cm is required to use the e-bikes. The route includes steep sections and gravel trails, which may not be suitable for riders with limited mobility.
Age Range
Adults are classified as 13 years and older. Children between 8 and 12 years are welcome provided they meet the 150 cm height requirement. Infants cannot be transported on the bikes.

Is wearing a helmet compulsory? ▼
Yes. Under Portuguese law, helmet use is mandatory for cycling activities. Helmets are supplied to every participant and must be worn throughout the tour.
Are there bikes available for children? ▼
Yes, bikes sized for children with at least 150 cm of height are available. Please inform the operator of all riders' heights when booking so the correct bike size can be prepared.
What happens if the weather is bad on the day? ▼
If the tour is cancelled due to adverse weather, participants may reschedule for another date, switch to a different activity or itinerary, or receive a full refund.
Is a transfer from Ponta Delgada available? ▼
A pick-up and drop-off service from Ponta Delgada is available as an optional add-on, subject to availability. For accommodation outside Ponta Delgada, contact the operator directly to confirm whether transfer is possible.
Can infants be carried on the bikes? ▼
Not at this time. The operator is working toward offering this option in the future, but infant transport on the e-bikes is not currently available.
