Pompeii & Mount Vesuvius Guided Tour from Sorrento

Your guide collects the group from your accommodation in Sorrento. The transfer to the archaeological site of Pompeii takes approximately 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

You enter the western quarter of the ancient city and follow your archaeological guide through the Forum, the Basilica, and the civic baths. The scale of the preserved urban fabric gives a concrete sense of how organised and prosperous the city was before its destruction.

The route continues into domestic and commercial spaces, including a well-preserved bakery where stone mills and ovens remain in situ. Several residential houses reveal frescoed walls and original floor mosaics.

After completing the Pompeii visit, the group boards the vehicle and drives up to the car park at approximately 1,000 metres above sea level on the slopes of Vesuvius.

From the square at 1,000 metres, you walk the Gran Cono path to the edge of the crater. The hike offers direct views into the volcanic cone and, on clear days, a panorama spanning the entire Gulf of Naples.

The group descends to the vehicle and is driven back to Sorrento for drop-off at the original pickup point or your accommodation.
