Goðafoss, Forest Lagoon & Northern Lights — 3-Day Winter Combo
Discover the iconic waterfall, soak in geothermal warmth, and chase the Northern Lights across the skies of North Iceland.
This three-day winter itinerary combines the natural drama of Goðafoss waterfall with the restorative warmth of the Forest Lagoon and an expertly guided Northern Lights hunt — all based in Akureyri, the capital of North Iceland.
The tour begins with a complimentary airport shuttle for EasyJet arrivals, ensuring a smooth start to your Icelandic adventure. From Akureyri, the program unfolds at a relaxed pace designed to suit all fitness levels, with Very Easy difficulty ratings throughout.
Each evening, the team assesses weather and sky conditions to determine the best location outside the city for Northern Lights viewing, escaping light pollution for optimal visibility. If the lights do not appear on your scheduled night, the excursion is offered again at no additional cost.
The daytime excursion follows the coast of Eyjafjordur fjord to Goðafoss, continues to Lake Myvatn and its volcanic landscapes, and finishes with a visit to the Forest Lagoon for geothermal relaxation surrounded by forest and mountain scenery.
Tour Highlights
Stand beside Goðafoss, one of Iceland's most photographed waterfalls, framed by a dramatic winter icescape.
Relax in the Forest Lagoon, a geothermal bathing facility set among trees with views of the surrounding mountains.
Join a guided Northern Lights hunt outside Akureyri, with a free repeat trip if the aurora does not appear.
Explore the volcanic terrain around Lake Myvatn, including lava pillars, pseudocraters, and the Dimmuborgir lava formations.
Visit Grjótagjá cave and the geothermal hot spring area at Hverarönd in Námaskarð.
A complimentary airport shuttle is included for EasyJet flights landing in Akureyri, covering all guests on combo tours.
