          More to know about Godafoss

Godafoss is a waterfall located in northern Iceland, known for its dramatic horseshoe shape and powerful cascade. The name means "waterfall of the gods" in Icelandic. Located along the Ring Road, it drops approximately 12 meters into a canyon carved by glacial meltwater. Visitors hike to viewpoints for photography and observe the raw geothermal landscape surrounding the falls.
Godafoss is located in the Bardardalur valley of northeastern Iceland, situated directly on Route 1 (the Ring Road) approximately 50 kilometers east of Akureyri and 50 kilometers west of Lake Myvatn. The waterfall is part of the Diamond Circle, a popular touring route in north Iceland encompassing Lake Myvatn, Dettifoss, Husavik, and Asbyrgi Canyon. The Skjalfandafljot River, one of Iceland's longest, feeds the falls before continuing south through the interior highlands.
