Following Galafura, the route descends through vineyard roads toward the first optional tasting of the day, selected during booking. Estates available include family-run properties such as Quinta da Martha's and highly regarded wine tourism destinations like Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo or Quinta do Crasto. Depending on the option chosen, the experience may include four to five Douro DOC wines.
Casal de Loivos provides a striking panoramic perspective directly above Pinhão, where the river bends through the valley with unusual clarity. Below, the village of Pinhão offers its celebrated railway station, lined with blue azulejo tile panels depicting the culture and landscape of the region. The historic Metal Bridge of Peso da Régua, inaugurated in 1872, adds a further architectural note before the return journey to Porto in the early evening.
