The Algarve's limestone cliffs have been sculpted by centuries of Atlantic erosion, creating a sequence of arches, grottoes, and caverns that can only be reached by water. How the Tour Unfolds

Arrival and Check-In at Benagil Beach
Participants are asked to arrive at least 45 minutes before departure. Look for the Otter Tours team in dark blue shirts featuring a golden otter logo, or ask for Fábio or Diana. Check-in takes approximately 30 minutes.

Safety and Technical Briefing
Before entering the water, guides conduct a full briefing covering paddling technique, sea entry and exit procedures, and safety guidelines. This session is mandatory for all participants.

Launch and Coastal Paddle
The group enters the water from Benagil Beach with guide assistance. The route follows the base of the limestone cliffs, where guides share information about local geology and marine life along the way.

Visiting Benagil Cave and Surrounding Grottos
The group enters Benagil Cave by kayak, spending approximately 7 minutes inside. Additional caves are visited depending on sea conditions and visitor numbers. All observations take place from the water.

Return to Beach and Photo Sharing
The guide team assists with sea exit back at Benagil Beach. Photos taken during the tour are shared with participants free of charge after the activity concludes.

Meeting Point
Benagil Beach, Algarve. Public parking is available approximately 5 minutes on foot from the beach. During high season, parking fills quickly, so early arrival is advised.
What to Bring
Water in a reusable bottle, swimwear, a beach towel, sunscreen, comfortable clothing, and a valid identification document. Bring only essentials, as there is no secure storage on site.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made up to 24 hours before departure are fully refunded. If sea conditions are unsafe, the activity will be rescheduled or a full refund issued. Late arrival or no-show may result in loss of booking without refund.

Yes. Sea entry and exit involve exposure to waves, and paddle splashes are common during the route. Wearing suitable swimwear and bringing a change of clothes is recommended.
What happens if sea conditions are not safe on the day of the tour?▼
If conditions are deemed unsafe, participants will be contacted to arrange an alternative date or time. A full refund is offered if rescheduling is not possible.
