Algarve Private Boat Tour
Private Boat Tour: Algarve Caves and Coastline from Vilamoura
Navigate 32 nautical miles of rugged coastline and step inside the legendary Benagil Caves on a small-group private boat experience.
This Algarve caves boat tour takes you from Vilamoura marina along one of Europe's most dramatic coastlines, passing Falésia beach, Albufeira, and Armação de Pêra before reaching the celebrated Benagil sea cave system. With a maximum of 12 guests per departure, the experience is built around genuine access, comfort, and a responsible approach to the marine environment.
The journey covers approximately 32 nautical miles and visits between 10 and 15 caves, depending on tide and sea state. Inside the caves, the crew explains the fossil formations exposed by centuries of erosion, the geology of the limestone cliffs, and the role of tidal action in shaping these structures. Sunlight filtering through cave openings and the resonant sound of the ocean within the chambers make this a setting that is difficult to replicate anywhere else.
The boat used is a 7.60 m Vanguard RIB named AYLA I, a vessel well suited to navigating tight cave entrances and shallow coastal waters. The crew is experienced, bilingual, and focused on minimising disturbance to the wildlife encountered along the route. Photography enthusiasts, nature lovers, and families with children aged four and above will find this tour a well-structured and immersive way to explore the Algarve from the sea.
