Sorrento Cooking Class with Local Chef and Traditional Lunch
Discover the heart of Neapolitan cuisine inside a fragrant citrus grove on the Sorrentine Peninsula
This Sorrento cooking class invites you into a working citrus grove where a local chef guides you through the preparation of authentic Neapolitan and Sorrentine dishes. You learn by doing, working with fresh, regional ingredients in a relaxed and informal setting. The session concludes with a shared table meal of everything you have prepared together.
The Sorrentine Peninsula has long been considered one of the most fertile corners of Southern Italy, known for its lemons, sun-ripened tomatoes, and buffalo mozzarella. This class draws directly on that local larder, giving participants a tangible connection to the food culture of the region rather than a simplified tourist version of it.
Both a cooking track and a pizza-making track are available, and sessions run twice daily. The experience is rated easy, making it accessible to complete beginners as well as those who cook regularly and simply want to deepen their knowledge of traditional techniques.

Class Itinerary
Arrive at the cooking venue set within a fragrant citrus grove. Your host chef introduces the philosophy behind Sorrentine cuisine, the local ingredients on the day, and the structure of the session ahead.
Choose your track and get straight to work. The cooking track covers handmade gnocchi Sorrento style and Eggplant Parmigiana. The pizza track takes you through basic dough preparation, a 12-hour leavening process and your choice of topping — Margherita, Marinara or grilled vegetables.
As part of the cooking track, participants prepare a traditional Sorrentine dessert under the guidance of the chef. This segment introduces classic local sweets and the simple techniques behind them.
A guided tasting of Limoncello rounds out the experience. The chef explains the production process and the importance of Sorrento lemons in local food and drink culture.
