Private Glacier Lagoon, Diamond Beach & South Coast Tour from Reykjavik
Icebergs, black sand, and a hike on one of Iceland's greatest glaciers — all in one day.
This private Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach tour takes you on a 15-hour journey along Iceland's legendary south coast, combining glacier hiking, thundering waterfalls, and two of the country's most photographed natural wonders. Your guide picks you up directly from your Reykjavik hotel and returns you there at the end of the day. Every experience is documented along the way, with edited photos delivered to you after the tour.
Iceland's south coast holds a remarkable concentration of natural landmarks within a single drive. From the cave waterfall at Seljalandsfoss to the towering cascade of Skogafoss, the route east along the Ring Road reveals scenery that shifts from green farmland to volcanic coastline to vast glacial terrain.
A lunch break in the coastal village of Vik offers time to walk the black sand beach at Reynisfjara and watch for puffins at Dyrhólaey before the tour continues into Vatnajokull National Park. The afternoon brings a glacier hike at Skaftafell followed by a visit to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, where icebergs calve from the glacier and drift toward the sea.
Tour Highlights
Walk behind the curtain of water at Seljalandsfoss and stand at the base of the massive Skogafoss waterfall.

Visit Diamond Beach, where chunks of glacial ice wash ashore and glitter against the black sand.
Witness floating icebergs at Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, one of Iceland's most iconic natural sites.
Your guide doubles as your photographer throughout the day, capturing every key moment for you.
Stop at Reynisfjara black sand beach and Dyrhólaey for the chance to spot Atlantic puffins in season.
Hotel pickup and drop-off in Reykjavik included, making this a fully private and seamless experience.
Itinerary
Your guide collects you from your Reykjavik accommodation and heads southeast along the Ring Road. The first stop is Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall with a path that wraps around behind the cascade and into the cave behind it.
Continue to Skogafoss, one of Iceland's largest and most recognized waterfalls. On clear days, a double rainbow forms in the mist at the base. From there, the route passes Reynisfjara black sand beach and Dyrhólaey, where puffins nest from May through August.
The tour pauses in Vik, a small coastal town on the edge of the Atlantic, for coffee and lunch. This is a good opportunity to explore the town briefly before continuing east into the national park.
Inside Vatnajokull National Park, the group gears up and spends approximately three hours hiking on a glacier outlet at Skaftafell. Ice axes and crampons are used to traverse the ancient ice surface, revealing crevasses and blue-tinted formations up close.
The day's final destination is Jokulsarlon, a glacial lagoon filled with floating icebergs that have broken from the Vatnajokull glacier. A short walk across the road leads to Diamond Beach, where ice blocks wash up and melt slowly on the black sand shore.
Your guide drives you back along the Ring Road to Reykjavik, with edited photos from the day sent to you following the tour. Drop-off is at your original hotel or accommodation.
