Route Overview
The tour begins at Praia dos Pescadores in front of Pedro's Bar. After a safety briefing and life jacket fitting, the boat sets off along the coastline heading east toward the first beaches and cave formations.
Early in the route the boat passes Praia dos Beijinhos, Praia do Tremoço, and enters the Cova Redonda zone, including the Gruta da Cova Redonda and the landmark Chapel of Senhora da Rocha perched on the clifftop above.
The mid-section of the route covers Praia de Albandeira, the Arco de Albandeira, and the Gruta dos Capitães. Praia da Marinha and its surrounding arches and submarine caves follow shortly after.
The centrepiece of the tour is the Gruta de Benagil, where the boat enters the cave so passengers can photograph the famous domed ceiling and interior beach. The nearby Cathedral formation and Gruta do Eco are visited in the same area.
The final stretch takes in Praia do Carvalho, a series of smaller grottos including Gruta da Tartaruga and Gruta do Coração, the Farol de Alfanzina lighthouse, and the geological formations at Algar Seco before reaching Carvoeiro.
