Tour Itinerary
Gather at the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon parking area at least 30 minutes before departure. Your guide will brief the group on conditions, safety procedures, and what to expect during the tour.
Board a 4x4 super jeep for the ride across the glacier access terrain. This vehicle handles the rugged landscape that leads toward the ice cave entry point.
Strap on your crampons and follow your guide across the glacier surface to the cave entrance. The route is flat, with no elevation gain required.
Spend a generous amount of time inside the cave, taking in the blue crystal formations and capturing photographs. Your guide will point out the best angles and explain how the cave was formed.
Walk back to the super jeep and return to the meeting point at the glacier lagoon. Total time from departure to return is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours depending on conditions.
