Itinerary Overview
The group meets for pick-up and travels approximately 45 minutes to the trailhead at the foot of Thingvellir National Park. Your guide introduces the route and covers safety and orienteering basics before setting off.
The hike begins across open terrain, with the guide leading the group through the geological landscape surrounding the Hengill volcanic system. Early sections build a rhythm before the gradient increases.
At designated points along the route, the guide teaches practical map, compass, and altimeter navigation. Participants apply these skills to navigate sections of the trail independently under supervision.
