Golden Circle & Snorkeling in Silfra Minibus Tour with Free Underwater Photos
Drift between two continents in crystal-clear glacial waters, then journey through Iceland's most celebrated scenic route.
Snorkeling in Silfra is one of the most singular underwater experiences on the planet, placing you directly in the rift between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates in water of extraordinary clarity. This full-day minibus tour pairs that rare fissure dive with the sweeping landscapes of the Golden Circle, combining geological wonder with cultural and natural heritage in a single ten-hour journey.
The tour departs with a hotel pickup in Reykjavik, where a PADI Divemaster guide accompanies the group throughout the day. All drysuits, thermal undersuits, hoods, gloves, masks, snorkels, and fins are provided on-site, so no prior experience or specialist gear is required beyond a basic comfort with swimming.
After Silfra, the minibus continues along the Golden Circle route to Thingvellir National Park's viewpoints, the roaring Gullfoss waterfall fed by the Langjokull glacier, and the Geysir geothermal field where Strokkur erupts reliably every few minutes to heights of up to 40 meters.
Free underwater photographs are included, giving participants a ready-made record of the fissure's remarkable visibility and the vivid blue hues of the glacial water without the need to bring their own waterproof camera equipment.
Tour Highlights

Travel in a comfortable minibus with hotel pickup included, keeping group sizes small for a more personal experience.
How the Day Unfolds
Your guide collects the group from the designated Reykjavik meeting point in a comfortable minibus. The drive to Thingvellir National Park takes approximately 45 minutes through the Icelandic countryside.
On arrival at Thingvellir, the guide leads a walk through the volcanic moss-covered terrain to the fissure entry point. A full PADI-standard safety briefing is delivered before drysuits and all associated gear are distributed and fitted.
Participants enter the fissure and drift through Silfra Hall, the widest section, before reaching Silfra Cathedral, its deepest point. The session concludes at the shallow area known locally as the Real Blue Lagoon, with the guide capturing underwater photos throughout.
The group visits Gullfoss, where meltwater from Langjokull glacier drops into a dramatic canyon. On clear days the glacier is visible on the horizon and a rainbow frequently forms in the waterfall's mist.
A stop at the Geysir geothermal field includes time to observe Strokkur erupting and to walk among the multicolored hot spring pools. The original Geysir, which lends its name to all geysers worldwide, is also visible in the area.
The minibus returns to Reykjavik, completing the circuit of the Golden Circle before dropping participants back in the city. Total tour duration is approximately ten hours from pickup.
