Whale Watching Express Adventure from Reykjavik Old Harbour
A swift and spectacular encounter with Iceland's most magnificent marine giants
The Whale Watching Express Adventure delivers a focused, high-impact journey into Faxafloi Bay, where Minke whales, Humpback whales, and dolphins regularly surface within sight of Reykjavik's iconic skyline. Designed for travellers with limited time, this 2.5-hour tour keeps the experience rich without sacrificing any of the wonder.
Departing from Reykjavik's Old Harbour at Geirsgata 11, the express route reaches the whale watching area faster than the standard tour, giving guests the maximum possible time observing wildlife on the bay. Warm overalls are provided onboard, and heated indoor cabins ensure comfort regardless of the weather conditions.
Expert guides accompany every departure, sharing biological and behavioural insights about the species encountered. The surrounding waters of Faxafloi Bay also host Harbour porpoises, seabirds, and on rare occasions, Orca. The dramatic backdrop of Reykjavik's mountains and coastal islands adds a scenic dimension to the wildlife focus.
Complimentary seasickness tablets and free WiFi are available onboard, making the experience accessible and comfortable for a wide range of travellers. Should no whale sightings occur during the tour, guests are welcome to join a future departure free of charge.
