Private Grand Golden Circle Tour
Discover Iceland's most iconic landmarks in comfort, with a knowledgeable guide and Icelandic snacks along the way.
The Private Grand Golden Circle Tour takes you through Iceland's most celebrated natural and historical sites in a single, well-paced day. From the rift valley of Thingvellir to the thundering cascade of Gullfoss, every stop reveals a different dimension of Iceland's remarkable landscape.
This tour is designed for travelers who want a genuine connection with Iceland's nature and history without the noise of a large group. Your guide brings local knowledge and a relaxed atmosphere, making each site feel personal rather than rushed. Snacks and refreshments are provided throughout, and families traveling with children will find activities and treats included as well.
The route covers four landmark destinations that together tell the geological, cultural, and ecological story of Iceland. You will walk between tectonic plates, watch a geyser erupt repeatedly, stand at the edge of a powerful waterfall, and descend into an ancient volcanic crater. Each location adds a distinct layer to your understanding of this island.
A complimentary lunch stop at Geysir Restaurant is included mid-tour, giving everyone a chance to rest and refuel before continuing to Gullfoss and Kerið. The entrance fee to Kerið crater is also covered in the tour price, so there are no unexpected costs on the day.

Itinerary
Thingvellir occupies a rift valley that marks the boundary between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, which drift apart by up to 2 cm each year. The canyon of Almannagjá runs between these plates, allowing visitors to walk leisurely between two continents. The site holds equal significance as Iceland's most important historical and cultural location.
The Geysir area in Haukadalur valley gave the world the very word used to describe this geological phenomenon. While the original Geysir no longer erupts consistently, the nearby Strokkur geyser performs every 5 to 10 minutes, building anticipation before each dramatic eruption. You will have ample time to witness multiple eruptions at this iconic site.
A complimentary lunch stop at Geysir Restaurant is included in the tour. This gives the group time to rest, eat, and explore the surrounding geothermal area at a comfortable pace before continuing onward.
Gullfoss, meaning Golden Falls, is fed by meltwater from Langjökull glacier and ranks among Iceland's most visited and powerful waterfalls, with up to 140 cubic meters of water passing per second in summer. Several viewing platforms and a trail alongside the falls offer different perspectives of this natural spectacle. The origin of the golden name remains debated, with stories ranging from a farmer's buried treasure to the hue of sunlight on the water.
Estimated at approximately 6,500 years old, Kerið is a remarkably well-preserved volcanic crater measuring 170 meters in diameter and 55 meters deep. Visitors can view the aquamarine lake at its base from the rim or descend via a wooden staircase to the water's edge. The entrance fee to Kerið is included in the tour price.
