This circular trail takes roughly 3.5 hours to complete on foot and is led by experienced local guides from Picos de Aventura. The return journey follows the ribeira — a natural stream channel — that flows from the waterfall back down to Faial da Terra. Before heading back to Ponta Delgada, the group stops in Vila da Povoacao, the historically significant first settlement of Sao Miguel island.
