Private Northern Lights Photography Tour
Chase the aurora through the winter night with a dedicated photography guide by your side.
This four-hour Northern Lights photography tour takes you away from city light pollution and into the open countryside, where the aurora borealis can reveal its full spectrum of colour against the dark winter sky. Your guide is both an experienced photographer and a Northern Lights specialist, combining practical camera coaching with expert knowledge of where and when the lights are most likely to appear.
The tour is designed around the craft of photography, not just the spectacle. From the moment you set out, your guide works with you on composition, exposure settings, and technique so that by the time the aurora appears, you are ready to capture it properly rather than scrambling with unfamiliar settings in the dark.
Because the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, no sighting can be guaranteed. Weather conditions, solar activity, and cloud cover all play a role. In the event that no lights are confirmed by the guide, a free retry is offered the following night on a small group non-photography tour, subject to availability.
The private format means the pace and focus of the evening adapt entirely to your needs. Whether you are new to long-exposure night photography or an enthusiast looking to refine your technique, the guide tailors the session accordingly.

What to Expect
Meet your guide at the designated meeting point. Before heading out, you will receive an overview of the evening plan and an initial briefing on camera settings and what to expect from the aurora.
The group travels out of town into the countryside, leaving behind urban light pollution. Your guide selects locations based on current weather forecasts and cloud cover reports.
At your chosen outdoor location, your guide works with you on long-exposure technique, white balance, and framing. You will have time to practise and adjust before the lights appear.
Your guide monitors conditions and moves to the most promising locations. When the Northern Lights appear, you receive real-time coaching to help you capture strong images as the display unfolds.
The tour concludes after approximately four hours. Your guide reviews the session with you and answers any remaining questions about editing or future night photography.
