Golden Circle Rally Car Experience
Iceland's most iconic route, explored in a 500-horsepower road-legal rally car
The Golden Circle Rally Car Tour redefines private sightseeing in Iceland, pairing the country's most celebrated natural landmarks with the raw performance of a custom-built Ford Focus RS. This is a full-day private journey through geysers, waterfalls, and volcanic craters — delivered in a vehicle unlike anything else operating on Icelandic roads.
Nicknamed Spirit, the Ford Focus RS at the center of this experience has been modified with a turbocharged engine upgrade, an intelligent all-wheel-drive system, performance suspension, and a custom exhaust. The result is a ride that feels both spirited and secure, whether the road ahead is dry tarmac or an Icelandic highland approach.
Unlike group coach tours that follow fixed schedules, this experience is built entirely around your group. Your licensed chauffeur and guide handles all logistics while adjusting the pace and energy of the drive to match your preferences. Stops can be extended, routes varied, and optional sites added based on what interests you most.
The itinerary covers the essential Golden Circle landmarks — Thingvellir National Park, the Geysir geothermal area, and Gullfoss waterfall — with optional additions including Kerid volcanic crater, the Secret Lagoon, and the Fridheimar geothermal greenhouse. Every detail, from door-to-door pickup in Reykjavik to the final return drive, is handled by your private team.
Tour Highlights
Travel in a 500-horsepower road-legal rally car, the only vehicle of its kind operating as a private tour taxi in Iceland.
A licensed chauffeur and local guide manages the entire route, providing context at every stop along the Golden Circle.
Door-to-door service from Reykjavik ensures a seamless start and end to your day without the need for a rental car or group transport.
Visit Gullfoss, one of Iceland's most powerful two-tier waterfalls, and Strokkur geyser, which erupts every few minutes with a column of scalding water.
Walk the rift valley at Thingvellir, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates visibly separate and Iceland's first parliament convened over a thousand years ago.
A fully flexible itinerary allows you to spend more time at the sites that matter most, with optional stops at Kerid crater and geothermal leisure facilities.
Despite its performance profile, Spirit is fully road-legal and fitted with premium sport seats and modern passenger comfort technology.
Itinerary
Your chauffeur collects your group directly from your accommodation in Reykjavik. The drive out of the city marks the beginning of the Golden Circle route, heading east through open Icelandic landscape.
Walk through Almannagjá gorge, positioned between two tectonic plates, and visit the site of the Althing — Iceland's original open-air parliament established in 930 AD. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized for both its geological and historical significance.
The Haukadalur geothermal field is home to Strokkur, which erupts every four to eight minutes, sending water 20 to 30 meters into the air. Surrounding hot springs and bubbling mud pools offer a close look at Iceland's volcanic activity.
Gullfoss descends in two stages into a narrow canyon carved by the Hvita river, producing a constant mist visible from a significant distance. It is widely considered one of the most dramatic waterfalls in Europe.
Depending on your group's interests, the route can include Kerid volcanic crater, a roughly 3,000-year-old caldera with a vivid turquoise lake, the Secret Lagoon geothermal pool in Fludir, or the Fridheimar greenhouse where tomatoes are grown year-round using geothermal heat.
The return journey follows a scenic route with optional detours available on request. Your chauffeur drops the group directly at your accommodation or a preferred central location in Reykjavik.
