Private Catamaran Tour in Guanabara Bay with BBQ and Open Bar
Discover Rio de Janeiro from the water aboard a spacious modern sailing catamaran.
This private catamaran tour in Guanabara Bay offers an exclusive five-hour sailing experience tailored for couples, families, and groups seeking a personalized day on the water. Departing from Marina da Gloria, the itinerary covers Rio's most iconic waterfront landmarks while keeping comfort and service at the forefront.
The vessel is a new, well-equipped sailing catamaran with generous deck space, two large nets, puffs, and pillows so passengers can relax and take in the scenery at their own pace. On-board facilities include a bathroom, two freshwater showers, two saltwater showers, and a Bluetooth sound system.
Whenever wind conditions allow, the crew raises the sails to offer a genuine sailing experience rather than a simple motor cruise. A passionate and experienced team manages every detail so guests can focus entirely on the landscape unfolding around them.
The route anchors at Praia Vermelha, one of the few spots in Rio where both Sugarloaf Mountain and Christ the Redeemer appear in a single frame, making it an exceptional stop for photography and an optional BBQ and swim.

Itinerary
The tour begins at Marina da Gloria in central Rio de Janeiro. The crew welcomes guests on board, introduces the vessel, and sets sail toward the bay's iconic landmarks.
Sailing along Rio's inner shoreline, the catamaran passes the beaches of Flamengo, Botafogo, and Urca, as well as the historic Cassino da Urca site and the Escola Superior de Guerra. Clear views of Corcovado and Pedra da Gavea open up from the water.
The boat pauses near the base of Sugarloaf Mountain, allowing passengers to appreciate its nearly 400-metre profile rising directly from the bay. The catamaran then passes between Forte Sao Joao and Forte Laje to exit the bay.
The main anchor stop takes place at Praia Vermelha, where guests can swim, enjoy the optional BBQ, and photograph both Sugarloaf and Christ the Redeemer simultaneously. The journey continues south along Leme and Copacabana beaches before heading toward Niteroi.
The route crosses to Niteroi to visit Praia do Forte, a calm sheltered beach surrounded by natural scenery. The catamaran then continues further into the bay past the Contemporary Art Museum and Ilha de Boa Viagem.
On the return leg, the boat crosses the bay with views of Santos Dumont Airport and the Rio skyline before docking back at Marina da Gloria, completing the five-hour circuit.
