Itinerary
The tour is a loop beginning and ending near Valados, taking in the Sete Cidades area by quad. Along the route you pass through Unileite and Bom Pastor, Canada Goyanes, Pico do Carvão and Muro das 9 Janelas, before reaching Vista do Rei for views over the crater. The route continues through Vila das Sete Cidades, a peninsula area, and a tunnel, crossing by the bridge at Lagoa das Sete Cidades and passing Lagoa de Santiago on the way back to Valados. Riders need to be at the departure point by 08:30, and the half-day format means the adventure wraps up without taking a full day from your itinerary.
Before you go
This tour departs from Ponta Delgada, São Miguel Island, in the Azores, and runs for 4 hours. Arrive at the departure point by 08:30, as the tour cannot wait for late arrivals. Anyone wishing to drive must present a driving licence valid in Portugal and sign a liability statement before setting off. A safety deposit of 500 euros per vehicle is required by credit card (cash is not accepted), and this hold is released up to 72 hours after the tour; vehicles carry third-party insurance and the driver is responsible for any damage. A guide, personal insurance, fuel and helmets are included. Free cancellation applies up to 48 hours before the tour; after that, no refunds are given, and no refund applies if you arrive more than 15 minutes late, cannot present a valid driving licence or the credit card for the deposit, decide to cancel due to inexperience with the vehicle, or give up once the tour has started.
