Winery Tour & Lunch in Chinchón
A six-hour journey into local wine, Castilian food, and village history just outside Madrid.
This Madrid wine experience takes you beyond the city limits and into the heart of a winemaking tradition that has shaped this region for centuries. Guided by a wine expert, you will visit a working winery, taste regional varieties, and sit down for a proper lunch in one of the most picturesque squares in Spain.
The day begins with a drive south of the capital to Colmenar de Oreja, where a family-run winery built in the 1880s awaits. The visit is structured to give you a genuine sense of how wine was made here historically and how modern practices have gradually taken over, with one traditional method still in active use today.
After the winery, the route continues to Chinchón, a fortified Castilian town whose arcaded main square has served as a backdrop for markets, bullfights, and open-air theatre for hundreds of years. Lunch is served here at a traditional restaurant, followed by a guided walk through the village streets.
The tour returns to central Madrid by early evening, with private transport used throughout. Group sizes are capped at eight guests, which keeps the experience personal and allows for genuine conversation with your guide during tastings and meals.
