Motorboat Transfer to the Bue Marino Caves from Cala Gonone
Sail to one of Sardinia's most extraordinary coastal caves along the rugged shores of the Gulf of Orosei.
This guided excursion offers direct access to the Grotta del Bue Marino, a remarkable sea cave carved into the limestone cliffs of eastern Sardinia, reachable only by boat from the port of Cala Gonone.
The cave takes its name from the Mediterranean monk seal, which once sheltered in its chambers before the species largely disappeared from the region. Today, the site is celebrated for its dramatic geological formations, including towering stalactites and stalagmites that have developed over millennia.
A licensed guide accompanies every group through the illuminated interior, pointing out the cave's most significant features and explaining the natural processes behind their formation. The experience combines a scenic sea crossing with an immersive underground visit, making it a well-rounded outing for travellers of all backgrounds.
The motorboat crossing itself offers views of the sheer coastal cliffs and crystalline waters characteristic of the Gulf of Orosei, one of the most visually striking stretches of the Italian coastline.
