How the Day Unfolds
Your guide collects you from your accommodation in one of the designated pickup zones along the Algarve coast, from Lagos and Luz in the west to Vilamoura in the east.
The 4x4 vehicle leaves the coastal plain and climbs into the hills of the Algarve interior. Paved roads give way to dirt tracks as the scenery transforms into cork oak woodland and scrubland.
You stop in small whitewashed villages where local residents maintain traditional crafts and agricultural routines. Your guide provides context on the history and culture of each settlement.
A visit to a local family distillery introduces you to the production of medronho, the region's signature spirit. You will also see a honey operation and taste both products.
Full-day participants sit down to a meal at a typical Algarvian restaurant, featuring locally sourced ingredients and regional recipes. This course is not included in the half-day option.
The vehicle returns along scenic routes and drops you back at your original pickup point, completing either the four-hour or seven-hour experience.
