From Brasov: Piatra Craiului National Park 2-Day Guided Trek
A moderate mountain journey through Transylvania's most dramatic limestone ridge
This Piatra Craiului National Park guided trek takes small groups of up to 8 participants deep into one of Romania's most scenic protected landscapes over two full days. A licensed English-speaking mountain guide leads every step of the journey, from Brasov to the high ridge and back.
The trek covers predominantly medium-level terrain for 5 to 8 hours each day, passing through authentic Transylvanian villages and open alpine meadows. Between June and September, participants stop at a working sheep farm for a traditional lunch prepared on site.
Overnight accommodation is arranged at a local guesthouse in the village of Pestera, where guests experience genuine mountain hospitality and regional cuisine. The second day concludes with a visit to the Zarnesti Gorges before the return transfer to Brasov.
The programme holds eco-certification, reflecting a commitment to low-impact travel and respect for the natural environment of the Carpathians. Group size is strictly limited to preserve trail quality and allow for a more personal guiding experience.
