More to know about Seltun Hot Springs

Seltun Hot Springs is located in southwestern Iceland, near the town of GrindavĂk on the Reykjanes Peninsula. This geothermal area features colorful hot springs, steaming vents, and mineral-rich pools surrounded by volcanic rock formations. Visitors hike through the otherworldly landscape, observe geothermal activity up close, and photograph the striking blue and yellow hues created by algae and mineral deposits.
Seltun is part of the Krýsuvík geothermal system on Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula, situated within the UNESCO Reykjanes Geopark approximately 40 kilometers southwest of Reykjavik. The area sits along an active volcanic zone where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet, producing persistent surface geothermal activity including hot springs, fumaroles, and mud pools.
