Explore Luxor's East and West Banks on a Private Guided Day Tour
A full-day private journey through Luxor's ancient temples, royal tombs, and iconic monuments on both sides of the Nile.
This private Luxor day tour takes you across both banks of the Nile to experience the city's most significant ancient sites, with the flexibility of dedicated transfers directly from your hotel or cruise ship. The itinerary covers the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, the Colossi of Memnon, Karnak Temple, and Luxor Temple in a single well-organized day. Upgrades are available to add a licensed guide, prepaid entry fees, and lunch.
Luxor sits on the site of ancient Thebes, the capital of Egypt during much of the New Kingdom period, and the concentration of monuments here is unmatched anywhere in the world. The West Bank preserves the royal necropolis where pharaohs were buried in elaborately decorated rock-cut tombs, while the East Bank holds some of the largest temple complexes ever constructed.
This tour operates as a fully private experience, meaning the vehicle, the guide if selected, and the entire schedule are dedicated exclusively to your group. That structure allows for a more considered pace at each site rather than moving in step with a larger group.
The base package includes round-trip transfers and bottled water. Travelers who want a deeper understanding of each site can select an upgrade tier that adds a licensed Egyptologist guide, covers entrance fees in advance, or includes a midday meal.

Itinerary
Your private vehicle collects you directly from your accommodation or cruise ship in Luxor, marking the start of your West Bank visits for the morning.
On the West Bank, you visit the Valley of the Kings, where rock-cut tombs were constructed for pharaohs of the New Kingdom period. The valley contains tombs decorated with intricate religious texts and scenes intended to guide the deceased into the afterlife.
The mortuary temple of Hatshepsut, known locally as El Deir El Bahari, was built for the only woman to hold the title of pharaoh during ancient Egypt's 18th Dynasty, reigning from approximately 1490 to 1469 B.C. The temple's terraced design set against the limestone cliffs makes it one of the most distinctive structures in Egypt.
These two seated stone statues are the remaining visible remnants of the once-vast mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. A brief stop here provides a clear view of the scale of construction that characterized the New Kingdom.
Crossing to the East Bank, you enter the Karnak Temple complex, the largest surviving religious site from the ancient world. Built over centuries and dedicated primarily to the god Amun, the complex includes hypostyle halls, obelisks, and sanctuaries constructed by successive pharaohs.
The final site visit is Luxor Temple, founded by Amenhotep III in the 18th Dynasty and later extended by Ramses II. After the visit, your private vehicle returns you to your hotel or cruise ship.
