Your private driver-guide collects your group directly from your Reykjavík hotel, beginning the journey toward the Golden Circle. The drive to the first stop takes approximately one hour through the Icelandic countryside.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Þingvellir sits in a rift valley where two tectonic plates are slowly pulling apart, one of the few places on Earth where this process is visible above sea level. The park also marks the founding site of Iceland's Althing parliament in 930 AD. The visitor center offers interactive exhibits on the park's geology and early Icelandic history.
After a 45-minute drive from Þingvellir, the tour reaches the Geysir geothermal field. Strokkur, the area's most active geyser, erupts reliably every few minutes, allowing visitors to anticipate and photograph the eruption. Hot springs, steam vents, and colorful mineral deposits surround the main geyser pool.
A short ten-minute drive from Geysir leads to Gullfoss, fed by the Langjökull glacier. The waterfall descends in two tiers into a deep canyon, with glacial meltwater giving it a distinctive turquoise hue. On clear days, mist from the falls produces a visible rainbow over the canyon.
Often called Bridge Falls, Brúarfoss is considered one of Iceland's hidden gems due to its vivid blue water and layered volcanic rock channels. The site receives far fewer visitors than Gullfoss, offering a quieter and more intimate experience of Iceland's natural scenery.
