Golden Circle and Fridheimar Greenhouse Private Tour with Lunch
Iceland's most iconic route, explored at your own pace with a truly unique greenhouse dining experience.
This private Golden Circle tour takes you through Iceland's most celebrated natural and historical landmarks in a single full-day journey, combining tectonic wonders, geothermal power, cascading waterfalls, and a one-of-a-kind lunch inside a working tomato greenhouse.
Thingvellir National Park sets the stage with its dramatic rift valley where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates visibly separate, a site so significant it earned UNESCO World Heritage status in 2004. The area also holds deep democratic roots as the location of the Althing, established in 930 and recognized as one of the world's oldest parliaments.
From the geothermal fields at Geysir to the thundering cascades of Gullfoss, every stop along this route offers a distinct perspective on Iceland's raw geological energy. The private format means the pace, the stops, and the experience are shaped around your group rather than a fixed schedule.
The tour concludes at Fridheimar, a family-run greenhouse farm where tomatoes grow year-round under geothermal heat and artificial light. Lunch is served directly among the plants, with tomato-based dishes prepared from produce harvested on site — a setting unlike any conventional restaurant.

Itinerary
Your guide collects you from your accommodation in Reykjavik, or you join at Bus Stop 8 near Hallgrímskirkja church in the city center. The drive toward the Golden Circle begins through the Icelandic countryside.
Thingvellir sits at the boundary of the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates, making it both a geological and historical landmark of global significance. The site hosted Iceland's Althing parliament from 930 AD and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004. A short walk leads to Öxarárfoss waterfall, tucked within the park's rift valley.
The Haukadalur geothermal area is home to Geysir, the geyser that gave the English language its word for the phenomenon. While Geysir itself is largely dormant, Strokkur erupts reliably every five minutes, sending a column of boiling water up to 30 meters into the air.
Located a short drive from the geothermal area, Gullfoss drops in two stages into a narrow canyon carved by glacial meltwater. Paths from the upper viewing platform lead closer to the falls, where the force of the water creates a permanent mist.
Fridheimar operates a year-round tomato farm heated entirely by geothermal energy, with a restaurant nestled among the growing plants. Lunch here features dishes centered on the tomatoes cultivated on site, offering a setting found nowhere else. Icelandic horses are visited along the route to or from the farm.
The drive back to Reykjavik follows the south coast of Iceland, offering additional scenery before arriving back in the city in the late afternoon.
