Exclusive Private Shore Excursion from Livorno Port to Florence
A full day in the Renaissance capital, tailored entirely around you.
This private shore excursion from Livorno to Florence offers one of the most rewarding ways to experience Tuscany's greatest city during a cruise port call. With a dedicated driver and up to eight hours ashore, you move at your own pace through centuries of art, architecture, and civic history.
Florence rewards those who wander its streets with patience and curiosity. From sweeping panoramic terraces to intimate medieval alleyways, the city reveals layers of history at every turn. This tour is structured to give you both the iconic landmarks and the freedom to linger where you choose.
The excursion covers the city's most significant cultural and architectural sites, including the cathedral complex, the seat of civic power, and the bridges and workshops that have defined Florentine craftsmanship for centuries. Optional visits to world-class galleries allow you to deepen the experience further.
Because the tour is entirely private, the itinerary adapts to your interests. Whether you prefer to focus on Renaissance painting, Renaissance sculpture, or simply absorbing the atmosphere of one of Europe's most celebrated city centers, the day belongs to you.

Itinerary
Your private driver meets you at the agreed time at Livorno port. The transfer to Florence takes approximately one hour and thirty minutes along the Tuscan motorway.
The tour opens at this elevated esplanade overlooking the entire city. From here, the rooftops, the Arno, the dome, and the surrounding Tuscan hills form a single sweeping composition.
Walk beneath the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and the soaring dome engineered by Brunelleschi. The square also contains Giotto's Bell Tower and the Baptistry, whose eastern bronze doors are known as the Gates of Paradise.
The political heart of Renaissance Florence, this square is flanked by the fortress-like Palazzo Vecchio and the Loggia dei Lanzi, an open arcade housing monumental sculptures by Cellini and Giambologna.
A walk along the Arno leads to the medieval bridge lined with goldsmith boutiques that have operated here for generations. The bridge is one of the few in central Florence to survive the Second World War intact.
Subject to your preference, the tour can include the Galleria dell'Accademia to see Michelangelo's David, or the Uffizi Gallery with its collection of works by Botticelli, Leonardo, Raphael, and Giotto. Admission fees are not included.
