Full-Day Motor Boat Excursion in the La Maddalena Archipelago from Palau
A curated day on the water visiting Spargi, Budelli, and Santa Maria aboard a spacious 15-metre motor boat.
This La Maddalena Archipelago boat tour takes you through one of the most protected and visually striking marine park destinations in the Mediterranean. Departing from Palau, the journey covers three of the archipelago's most celebrated islands, with time in the water at each stop.
The vessel, Motor Boat Emanuel IV, measures 15 metres in length and is certified for up to 12 passengers. It features two bathrooms, a kitchen, two cabins, a large bow sundeck, and an elevated fly bridge that offers unobstructed panoramic views of the surrounding seascape.
A local skipper leads every departure, sharing knowledge of the territory, marine park regulations, and the natural history of each island visited. Lunch is prepared and served on board at the Natural Pools of Budelli, giving guests time to swim and explore before the meal.
The itinerary is designed to be flexible, allowing the skipper to adapt stops based on daily wind and sea conditions. This ensures each group reaches calmer, cleaner anchorages rather than following a rigid schedule that may not suit the weather.
Tour Highlights
Swim in the clear turquoise waters surrounding Spargi Island, one of the most scenic anchorages in the archipelago.
Scenic navigation past the iconic Spiaggia Rosa, the protected pink-sand beach of Budelli visible only from the water.
Lunch served on board at the Natural Pools of Budelli, a sheltered anchorage ideal for a mid-day meal and swim.
Guided stop on Santa Maria Island, known for its long sandy beach and shallow, calm waters suited for all ages.

Expert local skipper who adapts the route daily to find the best conditions across the marine park.
Daily Itinerary
The tour boards at the port of Palau. The skipper briefs the group on safety, the day's planned route, and the natural park rules before heading into open water.
The first swimming stop is at Spargi, one of the archipelago's uninhabited islands. Guests have time to snorkel, swim, or relax on the sundeck while anchored in clear water.
The boat navigates slowly past the famous pink beach of Budelli. As a protected zone within the national park, the beach may only be observed from the water, and the skipper provides context on its history and conservation status.
The group anchors at the Natural Pools for an on-board lunch prepared by the crew. After eating, there is free time to swim in the shallow, sheltered pools.
The afternoon stop is at Santa Maria, which features one of the widest sandy beaches in the archipelago. Guests can wade along the shoreline or explore the surroundings.
The boat heads back to the port of Palau, completing the circuit through the La Maddalena Archipelago. The skipper may adjust the return route based on wind direction.
