Alghero Coastline E-Bike Tour: From Fertilia to Monte Doglia
Pedal through pine forests, coves, and clifftops along one of Sardinia's most scenic shores.
This guided e-bike tour along the Alghero coastline covers 35 kilometers of cycle paths, coastal roads, and country tracks, connecting the village of Fertilia to the summit viewpoint of Monte Doglia. Electric pedal assistance makes the route accessible to a wide range of fitness levels, including the 400-meter ascent at the end. The full loop returns to the starting point in Piazza San Marco, giving participants a complete circuit of one of Sardinia's most celebrated stretches of coast.
The route passes through some of the most visited natural areas around Alghero, including the beaches of Bombarde and Lazzaretto, both known for their fine white sand and clear, shallow water. Riders also travel through the Porto Conte marine protected area, a bay framed by Aragonese watchtowers and dense Mediterranean scrub, before reaching the pine forest of Punta Negra and the clifftop above Mugoni beach.
The final section of the tour climbs Monte Doglia, where a panoramic view extends across the bay of Porto Conte and the surrounding coastline. The descent back to Fertilia completes the loop, passing through countryside scented with wild herbs and maquis. A qualified guide accompanies the group throughout, providing local context and managing the pace of the ride.
E-bikes are available in three frame sizes to suit riders between 150 and 190 centimeters tall. Each bicycle is equipped with a front pedal-assist motor and a battery rated for 60 to 120 kilometers of range, well above the distance covered on this excursion. Helmets and tyre repair kits are included with every rental.

Itinerary
The tour begins at the central square of Fertilia, a planned village just outside Alghero. Participants collect their e-bikes, adjust sizing, and receive a briefing from the guide before setting off along the coastal bike path.
The route follows the shoreline past the beaches of Bombarde and Lazzaretto, two well-known coves with crystal-clear water and white sand. The bike path here runs close to the sea, offering open views across the bay.
Riders continue through the Porto Conte protected marine area, passing Aragonese towers and military forts before entering the shade of the Punta Negra pine forest. The path transitions from asphalt to country road through this section.
The route reaches a 60-meter cliff overlooking the sea, with views down to Mugoni beach and its pine-backed shoreline. This section marks the furthest point of the loop before the climb begins.
The e-bike motor proves most useful on the climb to Monte Doglia, where a panoramic viewpoint rewards riders with an expansive view over Porto Conte bay and the Alghero coastline. The guide provides context on the landscape and local geography at the summit.
The descent and return leg follows country roads and cycle paths back to Piazza San Marco in Fertilia, completing the full loop. Bikes and helmets are returned at the starting point.
